Bios:
Filmmaker: Jordan Schevene produced his first documentary in 1999 and has been working in the industry for the past fifteen years. In 2004 his film Pilatzo Verde was featured on PBS. His fiction film No Stings won best picture and best cinematography at the Paonia Film Festival and was a special selection for the Breckenridge Film Festival. He freelances for both for profit and nonprofit companies such as Rocky Mountain Institute, Sustainable Resources at CU Boulder, Museum of Outdoor Arts, Orton Family Foundation, I See Change, Elephant Magazine, and more. He joined forces with Kale Casey because he saw the potential for the virtually unknown world of dog powered sports to grow in North America and around the world.
CoDirector/Producer/Narrator: Kale Casey is a skijor racer and wildland firefighter who serves as co-captain for Team USA. He was the only North American athlete to compete in all five nordic events at the 2013 International Federation of Sleddog Sports Winter World Championship in North Pole, Alaska. He was co-captain and raced at the 2015 IFSS World Championship in Bernau, Germany. It is Kale’s mission to promote dog-powered sports both locally and around the world. One of his deeper passions is to inspire and help train the next generation of dog lovers. Dog Power is the first in a series of movies that will educate and inspire the world about the diverse group of dogs and humans who share the common passion of living, working, and playing together.
Camerman/Drone Specialist: Maximillian Eckmann is a filmmaker from the Black Forest area of Germany. During his graphic design training he found his passion for film. After receiving his degree, Max specialized in freelancing on the implementation of image, event films and aerial photography. He has filmed three championship events for Dog Power Movie: Winter World Championships in Bernau/Todtmoos Germany March 2015, Dryland World Championships in Bristol, Canada November 2015, and European Championships in Savalen, Norway March 2016.
Writer: Cally Carswell is an independent writer, editor and radio reporter, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a contributing editor at High Country News, the environmental magazine for the American West. She covers climate science, ecology, land management, environmental policy and politics, and various other things that pique her curiosity, like the minimum wage and BASE jumping. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, Science Magazine, Modern Farmer and aired on Chicago Public Radio and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. In past lives, Cally was a High Country News staff editor, worked with American RadioWorks, the Utne Reader, and the Third Coast International Audio Festival, studied radio at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, and served on the Board of Directors for KVNF, public radio for Western Colorado.
